Sikkim’s first Nepali film to be premiered on March 31

Gangtok, March 22: The first Nepali film from Sikkim Angalo Yo Maya Ko, starring Indian Idol winner Prashant Tamang, will be premiered on March 31. The film also stars debutante actor Mahendra Gurung, along with names like Bijayata Baraily, Harshika Shrestra and popular Nepali comedian Mahendra Bagdas. Chief Minister Pawan Chamling is likely to be present as the chief guest for the film’s premiere at a select theatre in the state capital, a media release said on behalf of the producers. The movie, produced by Kishor Dungmali Rai, has been shot extensively around Sikkim and features a number of local artistes. Directed by Vinod Sereng with music composed by Issac Chettri, the film aims to promote the state across the globe. The film will be screened at Tel Aviv festival in May beside other places abroad.
