200 villagers fell ill in Tripura

Agartala, Dec 17 : About 200 villagers, including children, fell ill after having traditional food in Duncherra, in a remote tribal locality of Dhalai district yesterday.

Health Minister Tapan Chakraborty said here today that two special medical teams were pressed into action along with the existing health infrastructure in Ambassa area.

No death case has yet been recorded and all of the patients were out of danger, he said.

Initially, all of them were taken to Duncherra primary health centre and immediately they had been shifted to Ambassa sub-divisional hospital.

Two special medical teams were sent from Agartala last night.
