5 Bangladeshis detained from Western Tripura border

Agartala, Jul 14 : The Border Security Force (BSF) arrested five Bangladeshi nationals from the western border of Tripura last evening and seized mobile phones and Bangladeshi currency from their possession.

According to report, the detainees were sent to police custody for interrogation and initial investigation revealed that they had crossed the border for procuring liquor from Indian markets.

Police officials said infiltration had been reported on the porous border along 60 kilometre area in the western part of the state.

BSF officials said security was beefed up following the arrest of ISI activists from the western part of Tripura, who had entered the state from Bangladesh early this month, and close vigil was being maintained on the border.
