Nagaland social security schemes reviewed

KOHIMA, June 25 : A meeting to review the implementation of food and employment schemes among the marginalized in Nagaland was held at the Secretariat complex here yesterday.
According to official sources today, the meeting, which was attended by Commissioner to the Supreme Court Harsh Mander, Principal Advisor to the Supreme Court Biraj Patnaik and the state Government official led by Chief Secretary Lalthara, reviewed the survey conducted by different tribal development unites of Nagaland Baptist Church Council (NBCC).
The survey was conducted in collaboration with the office of the Commissioner to Supreme Court to assess the status of implementation of the food and livelihood schemes in the poorest district of the state, including schemes such as targeted Public Distribution System (TPDS), integrated Child Development Service (ICDS), National Old Age Pension Scheme, Midday Meal Scheme, National Family Benefit Scheme, National Maternity Benefit Scheme and National Rural Employment Guarantee Act. With the primary objective to evaluate the functioning of the Government food, work and social security scheme, the survey covered more that 3000 villages across eleven districts of Nagaland.
