KOHIMA, Feb 16 : Nagaland Peoples Front (NPF), an alliance partner of the ruling Democratic Alliance of Nagaland (DAN) has claimed that the two Congress MLAs who resigned from the state Assembly and the party will join them soon.

Giving a heavy jolt to the opposition Congress party just before the forthcoming Lok Sabha election and the Budget Session, both the Congress legislators, Kejong Chang from Tuensang Sadar II Assembly constituency and Aloh Konayak from Tizit Assembly constituency under Mon district submitted their resignation to the Assembly Speaker Kiyanilie Peseyie who reportedly accepted their resignations. However, they had not mentioned any reason of their resignations. NPF sources said they lost faith in the party and willing to join NPF. They also reportedly blamed the party leaders for working against the wishes of people, sources added.

The sources claimed that some other Congress legislators will also follow the suit but declined to divulge the names.

The Sources further informed that the duo will be offered NPF tickets for the by-elections to contest their vacant seats.
