Mega Food Park for Mizoram, Nagaland

Dimapur, February 15 : The Central government will set up two mega-food parks, one each in Nagaland and Mizoram.

An assurance to this effect was given to the Mizoram Chief Minister Lalthanhawla by the Food Processing Minister Subodh Kant Sahay in New Delhi today.

According to information received, the two food parks to be set up in Dimapur and Aizawl will come up in the next fiscal. 

The Union minister has urged the authorities to prepare a detailed project report for this purpose. 

Sahay said that the northeast has potential of promoting food processing industry and a national-level conference is being organized in Dimapur shortly to enthuse potential investors.

It may be mentioned that Obang Longchari, the newly appointed Regional Chairman, North East Zone—II under the Union Ministry of Food Processing Industries had informed about the proposal for setting up of a Mega Food Park in Dimapur.
