Arunachal govt to sack striking employees' leaders

Itanagar , Feb 14 Arunachal Pradesh Government has decided to terminate the services of five leaders of striking employees under the provisions of ESMA, state Home Minister Jarbom Gamlin said today.

Gamlin, addressing a press conference here, said three leaders were arrested from Aalo in West Siang district and two others from Itanagar .

He said the impact of the"pen down"strike was minimal except in East Siang and West Siang districts where some employees either remained absent or were not performing duty.

The minister said the the state government had asked the authorities in the concerned districts to send a list of absentees to the chief secretary.

"We will terminate them and appoint the educated unemployed youth on contractual basis to fill up the vacancies,"he said.
