Arunachal Pradesh Congress flays Rajnath

Itanagar: Congress in Arunachal Pradesh today criticised BJP president Rajnath Singh for making a provocative speech on China during his recent visit to the border state.

Reacting to Singh's comment here on January 30,state Congress chief and PWD Minister Nabam Tuki said since BJP had no other thing to speak of, it took up the China issue. No sensible leader should use provocative words keeping in view the geo-political location of Arunachal Pradesh, he said.

In his speech, Singh had said that China had an aggressive and expansionist agenda which was reflected in its claim over Arunachal Pradesh.

Tuki said senior BJP leader L K Advani had come here as deputy prime minister and laid the foundation of a 500-bed hospital but the hospital did not come up. He also failed to give Rs 230 crore grant he promised.

It was the UPA government which had given a huge package for the rapid development of the state, Tuki claimed.
