High-level panel to study service age

Dimapur : The Government of Nagaland has constituted a high power committee of five members, chaired by Additional Chief Secretary Lalthara. The committee is to scrutinize the retirement profile of government employees prepared by the P & AR department.

The committee is to make necessary recommendations regarding the maximum length of service of government employees and other service conditions.

The committee is to further examine the issues of doctored dates of birth by the government employees and to this effect recommend measures to address the problem.

A review of the recruitment system of class III and IV employees at all levels is to be undertaken and recommendations for a streamlined system to effect recruitment/employment of qualified employees in future be made.

Introduction of any other measures to access employment opportunities of unemployed qualified youths within and outside the state may also be suggested. The committee is to submit its report by the end of January 2009 for examination by the state cabinet.

According to a government bulletin, the members of the committee led by Lalthara are: Additional Chief Secretary & Development Commissioner Alemtemshi Jamir , Principal Secretary and FC, Toshi Aier, Principal secretary for P& AR CJ Ponraj and Secretary for Law & Justice KN Chishi.
