Bandh disrupts life in Itanagar

ITANAGAR, Sep 24 – Life came to a halt in the State capital today following a dawn to dusk bandh called by the Arunachal Volunteer Youth Federation (AVYF).

All business establishments, educational institutions remained closed while thin attendance was recorded in all government offices during the bandh called in the capital city area, official reports said.

The district administration made elaborate security arrangements along the NH 52A for the Ministers and MLAs to attend the Assembly session which began today.

The organisation called the bandh in the capital in protest against the State Government’s failure to meet its ultimatum for dropping Water Resource Development and Tourism Minister Pema Khandu from the Cabinet and initiating investigation into allegation of fund misappropriation against him.
