Former Editor of Northeast Herald dies in Guwahati

Kohima, Sep 22 : The former Editor of Kohima-based English Daily 'The Northeast Herald' Deepak Chetri died in a massive hear attack at the Guwahati Neurological Research Centre this morning.

He was 46 and is survived by wife and a son.

Born in November 2nd 1964, he completed his education in Kohima and Dimapur.

He started his journalism carrier as the reporter in 'The Nagaland Post', the oldest English Daily of Nagaland published from Dimapur.

He later joined 'The Northeast Herald' as the editor of the daily published from Kohima.

He was the founder-president of Kohima Press Club.

He later went to Guwahati and served 'The Sentinel', an English daily from Guwahati for few years and after which he started his own business at Guwahati.

According to family sources, he was feeling uneasy since Monday night and was subsequently admitted to GNRC yesterday.

After some tests, he was shifted to ICU last evening where he breathed his last at around 0545 hrs this morning.
