Editor of NEPS injured in accident

Kohima, Jul 11: Editor of the North East Press Service (NEPS) Okenjeet Sandham was seriously injured when he was hit by a speeding truck on National Highway 39.

According to family sources here today, Mr Sandham, who was returning after refuelling his vehicle, sustained serious head injuries when he was hit by a speeding truck of Nagaland Police below the Naga Hospital yesterday.

Mr Sandham's vehicle collided with a tree due to the impact. He was later pulled out of his vehicle by the Police constables travelling in the truck.

The constables took him to Naga Hospital here and he was immediately rushed to ICU.

In the evening the editor was shifted to the general ward and his condition is said to be stable and fully under observation.

The Kohima Press Club visited Mr Sandham at Naga Hospital and wished him speedy recovery and also decided to take up the matter with the Home Department and Director General of Police for follow up action.
