Delegation to visit New Delhi to apprise Centre of factual position
A conclave of all political parties was held in Imphal on Monday to take stock of the situation stemming from the indefinite economic blockade imposed by the Naga tribal students from April 6 protesting against the Autonomous District Council elections. After a day-long deliberation, it was resolved to send a delegation to New Delhi to apprise the Central leaders of the facts.
The conclave also supported the government decision and said that Thuingaleng Muivah, general secretary of the National Socialist Counci of Nagalim (Issac-Muivah), should never be allowed to enter Manipur. The two inter-State highways — 39 and 53 — should be opened and highway 150, which has been neglected all these years, should be made operational.
Nagaland feels pinch
Meanwhile, Nagaland has also started feeling the pinch as several organisations in Assam have imposed a counter economic blockade.
