NGO formed to fight corruption in Assam

Eleven people of Barpeta Road in Assam have formed an NGO named PROHARI. This NGO, consisting of local people, has been formed with an aim to cure society of corruption. Their first meeting was held on March 5, 2010.

ELEVEN PEOPLE of Barpeta Road in Assam have come together to form an NGO named PROHARI. This NGO has sprung from the founders’ desire to curb corruption in their society.

Their first meeting was held at a tourist lodge at Barpeta Road on March 5. J. Bhatta was selected President and Suresh Singh was made General Secretary.

Nine others were made life time members and these included three ward commissioners Haris Barman, Basu Maheshwari and Juticka Das. AIOCD member J.K.Tiwari and B.N.Saha C.A were also declared members. All eleven members of the NGO took the oath to free society of corruption.
