The inaugural ceremony will be attended by dignitaries like Thailand Ambassador to India Krit Kraichitti, Meghalaya Chief Minister DD Lapang and Assam Industry and Commerce Minister Pradyut Bordoloi.
Talking to mediapersons, ITFAA vice-president Rajesh Das hoped that the 17th IGTF would further strengthen commercial and cultural relations between Assam, other states of the Northeast and Thailand.
According to Das, the Sourcing Show Pavilion with 200 handicraft artisans from across the country would be one of the highlights of the fair. The Sourcing Show will be organized in association with DC (Handicrafts) Ministry of Textiles, Government of India. An International Buyer Seller Meet will also be held on February 4 at Hotel Viswaratna to facilitate future business ties between Indian handicraft artisans and foreign buyers.
The NE Techmart Pavilion by NSIC which has been winning the hearts of Guwahatians since the last so many years will once again display and sell some of the most breathtaking products from Northeast India, said Das.
An exclusive food court with red and white mood will provide delicacies from Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata and other states of the Northeast.
A lake side coffee shop at the entrance to the Maniram Dewan Trade Centre with a flower outlet will add glitter to the 17th IGTF.
The giant replica of Reclining Buddha will set the mood for Amazing Thailand. Apart from dance, art and food items, the hall 3 at Maniram Dewan Trade Centre will showcase products from 40 Thai companies making.
The Thai celebration at IGTF will be organized in coordination with Royal Thai Embassy, New Delhi and Department of Export Promotion ( DEP) Ministry of Commerce, Royal Thai Government.
