The feature film is based on a real story and is about an ambitious young girl. The protagonist in the film, unfortunately, is raped by her own uncle who has AIDS. When her parents come to know of the ghastly act, they try to keep it under wraps.
Rose Jamir, releasing the CD, said that such tragedy also occurs in Naga households but sadly we cover it up fearing it will bring a bad name to the family. The MD requested every family to buy and see the film since the funds are to be used for a good cause. Proceeds from the CD sales will go towards the YWCA’s AIDS-related projects. Producers of the film, the YWCA Dimapur branch, revealed that the message of the story is to create awareness among the people about such lesser known acts which also occur in our Naga society.
The Dimapur branch of the YWCA which was established in April 2007 is gradually spreading its reach here in Dimapur. It has at present more than 50 members. People interested in the CD, which is yet to be released in the market, may contact the YWCA’s treasurer at phone number: 03862/230054.
