Train services disrupted in Lower Assam

Guwahati, Oct 29 : Train services were disrupted for over six hours in Lower Assam today as protestors blocked rail tracks at Gossaigaon railway station in Kokrajhar district.

Angry citizens of the town were demanding stoppage of all trains at the railway station, Railway sources said.

Rajdhani Express, Kamrup Express, North East Express and Brahmaputra Express were some of the trains that were stopped or controlled at different stations in both Lower Assam and North Bengal.

The protestors lifted the blockade at 6.30 PM after the railway authorities assured them that their demand would be forwarded to the higher authorities for consideration, the sources added.
