Tripura Industry and Commerce Minister Jitendra Choudhury said here today that representatives of UAE-based TechMate International, who had assured to invest Rs 200 crore in Tripura for setting up an international medical city and a global village for IT industry and tourism along with another Dubai-based entrepreneur, held meeting with him.
On the otherhand, a three member delegation of Indo-Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce & Industry (IBCCI), led by its president Abdul Matlub Ahmad, arrived here to attend the third meeting of Task Force of Tripura Bangladesh on Trade & Investment here this afternoon.
According to a report, the meeting would review the progress of infrastructure development work on both sides of the border and promote export-import business including import of bricks from Bangladesh in North Dhalai and South Tripura besides, IBCCI’s proposal to establish the multiplex comprising budget hotels, restaurants, convention hall and other facilities in Agartala.
IBCCI had reiterated it’s interest to provide education opportunities to the Bangladeshi students in the state and they would be able to send at least 300 students every year.
Central government had also agreed to withdraw 2.5 per cent import duty from July 1.
