DoNER minister revealed total amount allocated for NE region

Shillong, July 18 : The Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER) has allocatted Rs 1432 crore for the year 2007/08 for the Northeast but utilised Rs 1406.60 crore.With this, the total unspent amount is Rs 25.40 crore, according to the Press Information Bureau (PIB).

And again for the year 2008/09, the DoNER has allocated for the region an amount of Rs 1473.25 crore but utilised Rs 1427.78 crore.With this, the total unspent amount is Rs 45.47 crore, the PIB stated.

These allocations are directly received from the Ministry of Finance.

The PIB release added that this information was given by the Union minister of Mines and Minister of Development of North Eastern Region, (DoNER) B.K.Handique in a written reply to a question in the Rajya Sabha today.
