Security beefed up in Nagaland-Assam border

Kohima, Security has been intensified throughout Nagaland-Assam border to prevent sneaking of Dima Halam Daogah (Jewel Gorlosa) militants following the crackdown on insurgent groups by Army and para-military forces in the North Cachar Hills district of Assam.

Inspector General of Assam Rifles (IGAR-North) Maj Pallab Choudhury told UNI that the AR, along with other security forces and police, had intensified patrolling.

Mr Choudhury said a strict vigil was being kept on the Nagaland-Assam border, especially in Niuland area of Dimapur district and Peren districts, where the fleeing DHD(J) militants might infiltrate.
