Call from PM a pleasant surprise for Agatha Sangma

New Delhi, May 28 : It was a call which surprised NCP MP Agatha Sangma and gave her an opportunity to speak to none other than Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.

The unexpected phone call for Agatha, one of the youngest members of the Parliament, was an invitation by Singh today to join his Council of Ministers.

"It was a very pleasant surprise. Because, I had the honour to receive a call from the Prime Minister. He informed me that he has inducted me into his Cabinet,"the 27-year-old MP from Meghalaya told reporters here.

Agatha, daughter of former Lok Sabha Speaker P A Sangma, said she had never thought that she would get a call from the Prime Minister himself.

"I thought that somebody from PMO would call probably. But I did not think that I would have one-to-one conversation with the Prime Minister,"she said.

According to Agatha, it was an honour to get the opportunity to speak to the Prime Minister personally.
