Tibetans take out candle light vigil

GANGTOK, March 2 – Tibetans in Sikkim took out a candle light vigil here last evening to mark their protest against Chinese persecution.

The Tibetan exiles have also expressed their solidarity in not celebrating their New Year this year. Organised under the banner of Tibetan Youth Club (TYC), the silent rally was taken part by over 500 Tibetans from across the State.

Zimba Pintso, the President of TYC said the main reason for organising the rally was to oppose the oppressive and discriminatory policies of the Chinese authorities in Tibet.
