Lumang, Premila win

Men and women’s open winners go home richer by Rs 30000
Imphal, March 9 : Sanjit Luwang and Y. Premila Devi lifted the titles in the men and women’s open categories in the 3rd Mega Marathon Manipur organised by the United Peoples Front here today.
In the men’s open, Sanjit Luwang of Yairipok clocked 1:05.14 seconds for the top spot, winning Rs 30,000, while O. Sanaton of Oinam came second in 1:05.37 seconds, taking home Rs 20,000. R.B. Suba of Uttarey, Sikkim West, came third with 1:06.09 seconds and had to settle for a cash prize of Rs 15,000.
H. Sanajaoba Singh, Th. Angou Singh, K. Jemson, Kh. Chinglen Singh, Kh. Premjit Singh, L. Nabachandra Singh and Y. Lokendro Singh were awarded Rs 2,000 each for making it to the top 10.
In the women’s open category, Y. Premila Devi of Yairipok Kekru came first having clocked 1:21.22 seconds. She took home a cash prize of Rs 30,000. Th. Pashotleima Devi of Kontha Ahallup, came in next with a timing of 1:26.12 seconds to win Rs 20,000 and Kh. Rasheshori Devi of Thoubal, clocked 1:27.02 seconds to pocket Rs 15,000.
Ch. Soniya Devi, Y. Ibemcha Devi, Th. Nanao Devi, O. Surbala Devi, Matuwara Ahmed, L.D. Neitinnei Chiru and K. Sitaprabha Devi collected Rs 2,000 each to finish among the top 10.
In the veteran men’s (40-50 years) category, O. Brojen Singh of Sagolband took the first position with a timing of 1:16.13 seconds to win Rs 10,000. Md Najimmuddin Shah took the first position winning an identical amount of money in the veteran men’s (51-60 years) category.
In the veteran men’s (61 years and above) category, S. Manihar of Pangei came first to win Rs 10,000 cash prize.
Mina Bordoloi of Jagiroad (Mokan Kuch) came first in the veteran women’s (35-45 years) category, with a timing of 1:31.53 seconds. She took home a cash award of Rs 10,000.
W. Sobita Devi of Khundrakpam finished first in the veteran women’s (46-55 years) category and was awarded a similar cash award.
In the veteran women’s (56 years and above) category, Th. Akasini Devi of Wangoi clocked 1:57.46 seconds to come first winning Rs10,000.
