Indian Finance Commission team arrives in Tripura

Agartala, Feb 14 : A 12-member delegation of the 13th Finance Commission(FC) arrived here this morning and has left for the headquarters of Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) in Khumlung.

According to a report, 13th FC Chairman Vijay Kelkar, also the former Union Finance Secretary, was
scheduled to reach Agaratala in the afternoon and meet the cabinet members of the Manik Sarkar-led ministry to finalise the issues related to allocation of finance from 2010 to 2015.

The FC was scheduled to hold separate meetings with Governor D N Sahay, Chief Minister Manik Sarkar and Finance Minister Badal Choudhury, sources added.

Official sources said the key departments of the state government would make their presentation before the team on ‘Non-plan Funds for 2010-2015′ tomorrow.

A meeting would also be held by the FC with the representatives of local bodies, political parties, trade and industry tomorrow, sources further informed.
