2 state capitals are already connected by rail lines that is Guwahati and AGartala. Further works have been taken up for connecting State capitals of Manipur, Mizoram, Nagaland and Arunachal Pradesh.
As per the present estimate, cost of providing linkages to 4 State capitals where works are already sanctioned is above INR 4200 crore. For State capitals of Sikkim and Meghalaya, survey has been taken up.
