Girl makes Tripura proud

AGARTALA, Jan 2 : The road to success doesn’t necessarily lead to only big cities like Delhi, Mumbai or Chennai. It is possible even in Agartala, capital town of Tripura. A-22 year old girl of Krishnanagar area has made Tripura proud at the national level in the year that was.

Sourabhee Debbarma, daughter of an official of Autonomous District Council (ADC) is one of the best ten contestants in the 4th episode of Gala Round of this years Indian Idol – a popular reality show on Sony Entertainment channel.

She has been able to steal the show from amongst the other participants. The people, including the judges, are all highly impressed with the mind-boggling performances of the talented girl.

It is seen as a beginning for young talents from Tripura making a mark at the national level. And the credit goes to Sourabhee for paving the way to the glamorous world of Bollywood.

She is the first tribal of the state to have participated in a reality show. Earlier, Smita Nandi and Nirupama Sen had rocked two reality shows — Little Champs and Sa Re Ga Ma Pa on ZEE TV last year. – PTI
